Video games are becoming increasingly popular among consumers. As a result, many institutions have opened their doors to providing education to those seeking to help produce new games.Trade schools like Flashpoint Accademy, and Full Sail have opened their doors to students seeking an education in learning how to make and program games. Slowly institutions like Elmhurst College and DePaul University have begun to offer game design as a major. Some but not all state universities offer game design as a major.

Gaming Research and Study
Games within our everyday lives has been rising at an increasing rate. This rise has lead to many new studies on the impact of games to our society. Studies like the Virtual Worlds Research studying the incorporation of games into learning. Another study was done using a game called Pardus to study the interactions between many different people. The study was done by a group known as PNAS or the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Studies on games have even been done on our dreams.

Augmented reality can be used as an extension to books, like text books or books one would normally read casually. Here is A good example of a Text book or game being used with augmented reality to promote learning. The symbol reveals information about different parts of a body. The game shows how the symbols can be used to make an interactive game where you are part of.
The popular game system the PlayStation 3 by Sony has been developing games like Eye Pet or Eye of Judgement. Within these games the players can interact with creatures as if they were actually sitting right in front of you.
